Fatherhood Diary

Happy 2009, everybody! After a great year of figuring out how to regain balance and stability in my life, Rachelle and I decided to throw a wrench in it and have another baby.  We found out about 10 weeks ago that Rachelle is expecting.

I’m both excited and nervous to tack on another addition to the family.

Rachelle and I agree that two children seems to be a good number for us.  I’m very happy with the fact that I’ll be under 30 years old and already with two kids.  There are pros and cons to having them early versus waiting until later, but for me the pros outweighed the cons.   For one, I’d like to be young enough to run around and play sports with my kids when they are in high school.  Two, I want them the hell out of the house early enough in my life so that my wife and I can travel and enjoy ourselves.  And third and probably most importantly are the lower health risks.

From what we understand, we’re looking at July 31st as the due date, and we’ve decided to not find out the gender of the baby ahead of time.  I’ll keep you posted with the entertaining stories of Rachelle’s morning sickness and tales of how she and her raging hormones are having fun raining hell down on her innocent husband.
